January Artist Uncorked featuring Michelle O'Mahoney

MichelleO'Mahoney Art is our featured artist for the month of January.

The nature of Michelle's work varies from time to time, but it almost always involves windows. She loves old windows, she paints on old windows, she collects old windows and is fascinated by the effects she can create on the old wavy glass! The older the better because she transforms the windows into beautiful works of art. She is enamored by the seasoned and rusty hardware some of her most precious finds adorn, but rest assured that even a plain, stripped down window will receive the freshness of new hardware and accent pieces.

She began her career painting on canvas which was an awakening of her art and vision which launched her pursuit as an artist. Her extraordinary and bold usage of color is clearly only one of the defining elements that one might use in describing the feeling and emotion that her work evokes. She is always learning new techniques that involve color and dimension and loves stepping outside the box with her artwork. Her florals, depictions of nature and animals are regular subjects in her artwork.

She graduated from California State University, Long Beach with a B.S. in Business Administration. Michelle and her husband Mark live in Green Lake, WI.

Stop by the winery and wander through our gallery with your favorite glass of wine!
