Our April Artisan of the Month is Erin Quick-Laughlin 

I have struggled since childhood with vision problems, nearly losing my sight, but in 2021, a new treatment greatly improved my vision.
This inspired an addition to my art style, adding figurative works to my earlier impressionism. 

Today, I primarily work in oils on canvas or board, focusing on European landscapes and the human figure. My originals can be found in galleries throughout eastern Wisconsin, with prints and merchandise available during summer art fairs. I’ve had the honor of participating in several prestigious plein air competitions, including those in Cedarburg, Oshkosh, and Richeson’s of the Fox Cities.

The works you see here represent places I've been, people I know, and things I like to look at. I work most frequently in acrylic on canvas or board, preferring European landscapes and the human figure.

Our Cause on April 21st is Gabriel's Wings.

Gabriel's Wings Foundation was founded in 2020 after we lost our son Gabriel to suicide. Gabe, a Ripon school student, loved sports and had an infectious smile. He made everyone feel included and was truly everyone's friend. The foundation was created to honor Gabriel's memory, raise awareness about mental health, provide resources for those struggling or grieving a loss from suicide, and to help "end the stigma." Our family is committed to keeping Gabriel’s spirit alive by offering hope and support to those affected by suicide.

• Gabriel's Wings is currently supporting organizations as they set up or enhance Mental Wellness Programs.

• In 2022, Gabriel's Wings Scholarships was formed as has been awarding High School graduates throughout WI who represent caring, giving spirit that Gabe shared with all - Shine on for Gabe!

• We continue to seek avenues and partnerships to further focus on the importance of mental wellness, resiliency programs and suicide awareness.

Kathy McCarthy from Mill Street Haven and Cooking School has found some amazing recipes that she has tested in her home kitchen, and in turn share with you.

Our Cause on Monday, May 5th is The Boys & Girls Club of the Tri-County Area!

Boys & Girls Club of the Tri-County Area inspires and enables young people to reach their full potential as productive, responsible, and caring citizens.

The Club serves youth ages 6 to 18 Monday through Friday after school and during the summer and is currently serving over 834 youth in the Tri-County Area.

They provide a safe environment, excellent facilities, caring adults and engaging programs in the following areas:

• Leadership & Service

• Sports & Recreation

Join us for Yoga in the Vineyard!

Our popular weekly yoga class, with Lotus Root Yoga, held outdoors among the grapevines is coming back this summer!

This gentle Vinyasa flow class is suitable for all levels. Be sure to bring your yoga mat, sunglasses, and plenty of water.

The cost is $10 per class (cash or card accepted), or you can use your Lotus Root Yoga pass.

Each class is led by a rotating team of instructors. Afterward, enjoy a glass of wine and unwind on the patio.

Yoga goes from 5:30pm - 6:30pm.
The winery is open until 9PM, and they offer a selection of beverages, snacks, pizza (served until 8PM), and other food options.
(outside food and drinks are not permitted)
