Our featured artist for the month of September is Jessica Schumacher, owner of “The Photographic Art of Joy.”

“My father was the first person to put a camera in my hand some 24 years ago. I think my creativity comes from him. High school is when this passion really took off. There I found so much creativity with black and white film and processing those images in a darkroom.
After High School I started working for a studio right when film was becoming obsolete and digital was all the new rage. I was trained as a portrait photographer. Photographing families, children, high school seniors and so much more. To this day I am still a portrait photographer.
They say do what you love, and so I have. I capture images that bring me JOY. I take the beauty of the world and I freeze it in time so I can hold it in my hand. Not only do I capture what brings me JOY but it is also in my name. I hope you enjoy my photographic art enough to hold it in your hands and have it bring you JOY.“
