Welcome Becky Behm, our Artist Uncorked for the month of July!
Becky states: "The paintings exhibited at Vines and Rushes Winery are a sampling of the oil paintings that I have created over the past fifteen years. I get my inspiration from nature and from architecture, and I tend to lean toward an Impressionist style."
"Most of the paintings on display are from my series of Oshkosh churches. These were painted in 2009-2010 after having painted National Cathedral in Washington DC. The unique vantage points and the depiction of moods through color, create in each painting an aura ranging from tranquil to vibrant."
"I paint mainly with oils. I love the qualities of oil paint, and for the style of paintings I do, I need to be able to blend and smear from one color to another to create gradual changes of tone. Occasionally I use watercolors, and you will see a few of them here."
"I am a graduate of UW Oshkosh with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Art Education. I teach Art in Omro at the elementary and high school levels, and provide art classes to homeschoolers on the side. I lead paint parties for groups in their homes or at gatherings for special occasions."
Stop in to the winery, stroll through the Great Room and see Becky's beautiful work anytime in July.
